Alex Rossie
If Alex had his way, he’d prefer to scrap the professional bio and would probably highlight that he never intended to be in ministry, never planned to be a missionary, didn’t want to be a pastor, and was generally the last person anyone thought would be in a ministry role.
Yet here he is, passionate about serving Jesus, and simply saying yes to one assignment at a time in obedience to Jesus—not because he’s super educated or wildly gifted, but because he’s determined to be faithful with the little God gives him and wants to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” All that to say, if God can use someone like Alex, then He can surely use you for way greater things.
Meet Alex—passionate about disciple-making, missions, and helping everyday people step into missional living. He’s driven to equip believers to become disciple-makers, build communities rooted in Jesus’ love, and see the gospel advance where it’s never reached, from local neighborhoods to far-off corners of the world.
His faith story took a dramatic turn when he found himself in handcuffs in a cop car and gave his life to Jesus in that moment—in 2008. That sparked a journey that led him to a discipleship training school, missions work in Kyrgyzstan, a mountain guide school, and then working with a church plant in Colorado. After a trip to the Arab World in 2010, he felt God lead him to drop out of college and stop his plans for Bible school, diving straight into pioneer missions in Central America. There, he worked with a team as they knocked on doors in villages without churches, planted house churches, and trained local leaders. Daily life in pioneer missions could involve 4x4 roads to trailheads, hikes across hills or even canyons to villages, doing life as a team and learning to navigate uncertainty, house visits and teaching one passage of the Bible at a time, being rejected more than welcomed, receiving a serious death threat or two, and dealing with the ongoing risks and the logistical challenges of international work—all while seeing God move in incredible ways. Alex met his wife, Brittney, while doing missions in Central America, and combined they’ve traveled to around 29 different countries, while doing missions work.
Arriving back in the U.S. in 2017, Alex jumped into real estate and then was invited to serve as an associate pastor, taking on all sorts of roles in supporting the growth and discipleship efforts at their local church. He also helped support students and a team to launch a club that brought hundreds of students to faith. Many of his favorite moments were helping individuals in their church identify God’s leading in ministry, giving them room to develop as disciple-makers for that call, and then helping them launch out into leading.
Alex began praying about church planting in 2019 with intentions toward the more modern ARC/CMN model, but then felt God challenge his mindset on church. He sensed a deep conviction around supporting the church (nationally) to become healthier in disciple-making, then prayerfully researched disciple-making movements and waited on God’s leading before taking any next steps.
In 2020, he discovered Ordinary Movement while searching for better discipleship tools for his church’s small groups. Soon after, in 2022, he became the Director of Operations as he loved the vision and effectiveness of Ordinary Movement’s platform to equip ordinary men and women to become disciples who make disciples.
He, Brittney, and the team co-launched Mosaic Movement, in 2025 as an innovative expression of church that works as a disciple-making movement (DMM) through micro-churches. In short, they wanted to run with a church planting model that equipped everyone to engage as disciple-makers and had a viral-like multiplication component while helping individuals become disciples who make disciples.
Today, Alex oversees operations for Ordinary Movement, co-leads Mosaic Movement with Brittney and the team, and runs side ventures like a marketing agency and real estate.
On the personal side, Alex was a certified mountain guide, wilderness first responder, and Dave Ramsey finance coach. He speaks Spanish, loves a light-roast black coffee, has an ongoing curiosity for entrepreneurship and investing, and thrives in the mountains—fly fishing and climbing.
More than any hobby or leisure now, he truly loves doing life with his wife and kids.
